The problem was not FEH was JWM.
I have installed version 2.4.3-2 and the image software hide the cursor.
Also added these:

[2024-10-27 ****] [ALPM] installed diffstat (1.64-1)
[2024-10-27 ****] [ALPM] installed gettext-tiny (0.3.2-4)
[2024-10-27 ****] [ALPM] installed quilt (0.66-2)

It seems to me if I have installed the package correctly

[~] feh -v
feh version 3.10.3
Compile-time switches: curl exif inotify help stat64 verscmp xinerama

but the cursor continues not disappearing.

I can also install these missing dictionaries?

Oh no, first things first: You do not have to remove the old package. You just need to download the PKGBUILD-script in a folder of your choice. Then change within using for sure your chosen terminal-session and execute:

makepkg -s

And yes: The package-group base-devel is here your best friend. After compilation of your package:

doas pacman -U feh 3.10.3-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.lz

I never did, what do I have to do ..

1- pacman -S base-devel

2- download the script

3- makepkg

4- makepkg -s

I have to uninstall the old package, right?

It should, yes. But you can also use the above linked packaging-script to build your own new version and test it now.

I am using jwm as wm and the feh version is 3.7-1.

So with the next update it should work.

there are more details needed when you want to analyze the problem: I can only state that feh in combination works absolutely fine using fluxbox. Tested for the version 3.10.3 from repository testing.

I can't hide the cursor, for example the -Y option in feh doesn't work, I've also tried using xbanish but the cursor still doesn't disappear. Is the same thing happening to you, or do I have some configuration that prevents me from hiding the cursor?
