Please understand therefore that every window-manager has an own way to approach this kind of control. You name a bunch of and meanwhile I personally tested many of them: IceWM never had that issue reported, same for JWM and blackbox also. So I recommend first that you enumerate your display-resolution and what could possibly cause that behaviour on the x-session. From there you can enumerate possible other options. I cannot recommend you here just one solution, as said: Every window-manager is doing that different with a different configuration and set of parameters of controlling the x-session. Furthermore: If this behaviour would be common, fluxbox and openbox would also show same problems.

Generic also: Please decide for one setup in time. As you approach include now foremost all named window-managers in your listing. Otherwise no one can help out!
