Input methods (fcitx, ibus, uim, etc.) and input method editors (mozc, anthy, etc.) are my lifeline. there seems to be a dependency on D-Bus, can it continue to exist in the future?

I find the qucs package to be a very useful tool in my line of work, and always look for it in package lists.  Would hope to see it continue to be included in the Hyperbola distribution.

Regarding the rest: More or less problems. Speaking about my "preferred" I'd like to keep iftop and vsftpd getting Hyperbola forward to really good server-distribution and secure on the desktop. If bluetooth got therefore restrictions I can live with that very good. But we all need reasoning as "outside" the forum we have enough problems asked questions or even worse get ruled without facts.

EDIT: Oh wow, what a mess. And what kind of problems we handle here: Another example about being to way into paying a high pricing for accommodativeness. It's a good one that I've stopped my experimenting with a fitness-tracker and libre software two months ago. And from the security picture itself speaking: I'd rather disable bluetooth or better doing this now.

You make a good point... yeah I was talking about the post I replied to. But you are right, I wasn't clear... Some packages are harder to build without unneeded dependencies. like say things that need intervention, like to depend on libressl, sndio, etc... things that need to be reworked.  Then there are things that arent hard to rework or don't serve much of a purpose. Nonetheless, I spoke without thinking.  Anyways though bluetooth I don't really see a purpose for regardless given that it is a security risk.  But to each to their own.

Which packages exactly? The listed above in my last posting? And what interests are you thinking of? There are different users here and it should be important for example to have a further look into the packages to be removed at last. In the end we have a secure distribution but no community and therefore it should be also of interest having backup possibilities for example. Building a local mirror is not that complicated when having for example vsftpd for the setup of FTP as packaging mirror. And iftop was very helpful for me debugging the concurrent network-connection throughout dhcpcd-ui and giving feedback about DNS-information.

Hyperbola could become even more interesting as operating-system for servers.

Warnings and proposals about the now really big and enhanced todo-list:

Removing python2-axolotl-curve25519 will result getting gajim unusable with encryption OMEMO. This should be prevented.

Why removing ghc? Therefore hedgewars has now problems and only a recompile of the concurrent repository-package helps (will create an issue about that later). This will become also impossible without the Haskell-compiler (and packages).

Please also keep blueman and therefore bluez-tools. Or is there some other possibility for bluetooth-management?

Removing bbswitch could create problems regarding switchable graphics.

The learning-suite gcompris-qt is really nice for children and keeping this would be a help for Hyperbola being also accessible for everyone.

Also sure about about removal for owncloud-client? I mean nextcloud is also available and therefore a desktop-client is helping.

Please also keep vsftpd as Hyperbola is very nice on the server-side and hosting a local package-mirror is so far interesting.

The package iftop is helpful for network-analysis.

What about asterisk? Holding a PBX-solution in the repositories should be helpful for running Hyperbola or its derivates as some routing-solution one day.
