Try to build some packages here including sig-files, so need for being approved with signed keys. And than import them from your local key-storage into onak. After that start the server and check for configuration. Use your "localhost" then for pacman-keys.

Advantages:

You are your local authority then.
You learn more about key-signing.
You are in control of the full key-storage in that current moment.

And YES: I know that this sounds like I have already done that. But that's not the case. That's only the scribbled ideal way to do it. There are enough falling steps on that road.

You can surely install onak also on your system direct. It is finalized and works (tested same on a real machine). But the part to combine onak with pacman-key would be interesting

Installation of onak for example as a tryout on a VM. We would need to do the same, but as said that we lack of people helping and time. Imagine like one person is communicating in forums, writing the wiki, packaging and communicating in IRC at the same time. There is no room for tryouts and that is the same for the rest of the team as everyone is doing at the maximum level possible.

For more information about onak: https://www.earth.li/projectpurple/progs/onak.html

If you have interest for a tryout, you can start there for sure. And for tests you can use therefore pacman and modify the shell-script: /usr/bin/pacman-key
