We replaced the syslinux EFI boot manager with rEFInd.

You should take into perspective that Hyperbola is designed for working on also hardware beyond some timeslot. So using UEFI-technologies afford different settings and especially manual intervention.

Have you tried an older ISO-file, like 0.4.2 the same? Have you tried the boot-option first on real-hardware? And again: Please provide more information than only the outcoming error / issue. We have posted therefore a note: https://forums.hyperbola.info/viewtopic.php?id=887

Hi coleges, In the v0.4.3 when I try use hyperiso on qemu, and select i686, return me a error "i686 vmlinuz no found", you can reproduce the error in a qemu machine with hyperiso and only select i686 on boot option
