Topic: Hello again people, glad to be back!

As my T500 is broken atm, Leah from minifree.org decided to send me a gratis x200 :-), with a SSD!

So I managed to install Hyperbola again, and I am glad to be back. Using new v0.4 with Lumina Desktop.
I can see that lot of packages have been deleted...
So I wonder if there any display managers available like sddm or lxdm, although I don't really need it, anyway...

Hyperbola is my favourite OS I have used like ever. Thank you.

Anybody could write me in short any changes that happened during last 2 years???? tongue

Cheers big_smile

I am so excited to be on a Hyperbola board again!

Happy user

A bunch of linux frameworks were removed due to them being bloatware or insecure, or both!

Btw, console-tdm is what I use as my display manager.

I suppose startx could also be used though...

Btw, Emulatorman could use some help regarding rebranding, if you can.

for HyperbolaBSD, ask him what he needs help with

Something about changing the names within the files...

OpenBSD aka to HyperbolaBSD?

But yeah, glad to see your back.

Also, funds too, if possible, due to a lot of these crowdfunding websites being largely useless in helping this project...

Re: Hello again people, glad to be back!

I am not able to give any funds, as I am a homeless person and broke too, I am unemployed and live in the woods far from humanity. This is why Leah has sent me a gratis x200.
But I have got lots of free time though.
I spend lots of time in a college library tongue

That's good, to be honest, that probably would be more useful to them anyhow...

Re: Hello again people, glad to be back!

Only one question, is there something like wicd or connman available, to manage wi-fi networks?
Or is it just command line that I can use? wpa_supplicant? Something else apart from wpa_supplicant_gui?
cheers

Welcome back here: To note about display-managers ... there are some.

slim
console-tdm
xorg-xdm

You won't find others because simple as that they rely completely onto dbus. And we won't support dbus any longer as 0.4 was rebuilt completely from scratch. All packages are our own now! If you search for the group games you will find some astonishing ones included. And more to come also as we are going to release 0.4.1 soon in preparation. smile

There is dhcpcd-ui if you want to have it like that. smile
