- There is no need to have two ISO-releases with exactly the same volume-id (https://forums.hyperbola.info/viewtopic.php?id=623) and the extra-work would make more difference for HyperbolaBSD especially as HyperTalking make usage of many parts where Linux-only frameworks were needed.
- For sure we have migrated the needed parts like brltty, but there was no final test available at that point for a set of pre-installed packages within the ISO.
We concluded that there is not much more interest onto HyperTalking and people can for sure choose their own system right out of all available window-managers and further desktop-environments. Yes, this would mean also problems for disabled people: So we look out for future release bringing back alternatives on a way with just one ISO-file.
But that is a thought not a final promise: When there is no current way to do so, we cannot do it either way. But for sure we will make sure that everyone can find a way into Hyperbola as project, everyone with a common understanding of our social contract for sure (just to make the wording "everyone" a bit more clear here as we have rules, values and principles and we will make use of it when needed).
So if I had to guess, when HyperbolaBSD is stable, the community will need to contribute to bring it back, assuming there is enough interest, am I right?
Makes sense, given the lack of interest...
To be clear, we don't need an installation gui for the new OS.
The most I would ever think is of any value, is to have an installer like this:

Only, with as few dependencies as possible and done in a way that is more OpenBSD like.
Aka, this kind of guided CLI would be more than sufficient imho.
Obviously don't use a debian one ofc...
