Topic: alternative: online translator

Hello everyone

Does anyone know an efficient alternative to google translate?

We need a free translation tool, I have searched around but unfortunately I have not found it.

Dunno, there has to be someone working on that though. I just hope they haven't given up...

Re: alternative: online translator

I found one that doesn't require javascript last night and there's another one for wannabe polyglots where I copy and paste "your hovercraft is full of eels" in everybody's native language, but I haven't found the perfect solution either.

My Portugese is all but nonexistant and I'm always too embarassed to even smile and say "Buenos dias, amigo." without pre-existing English contact so I sure hope they don't give up either.

I get the feeling that there is so much more to Hyperbola than we Anglo  refugees can even see right now. It kind of reminds me of my old hippie kid hitchhiking days--I wonder what's around the next bend of the road?

There is well maintained software Dico, the dictionary by GNU maintainer Sergey Poznyakoff:

And there are all the dictionaries and others that work with Dico:

I wish this software is included in Hyperbola, including the Wordnet.
