Topic: Problem with setting the Russian locale

I uncharted the locale of the Russian language, chose all the Russian locales, followed all the instructions, but they were not installed, everything acted as it was written in the instructions on the site

Re: Problem with setting the Russian locale

You would need first to configure the file /etc/locale.gen, as there the following entries:

#ru_RU.UTF-8 UTF-8
#ru_RU.KOI8-R KOI8-R
#ru_RU ISO-8859-5
#ru_RU.CP1251 CP1251

The entry selected (the exact same notation) need to be also therefore afterwards selection in the file /etc/locale.conf

LANG=ru_RU.UTF-8
LC_COLLATE=C

Afterwards you execute locale-gen. And again: Please provide examples of YOUR configuration!
Tryout and test your configuration also, nothing can go further wrong. But please give insights of your configuration instead of reporting generic problems.
