Topic: Music under PD or libre/free CC licenses?

Is anyone trying to find and listen any (good random) songs (depends with vocals on lyrics in other languages of English, Spanish, Arabic, etc.) by other independent artists or bands under public domain or libre/free Creative Commons licenses without restrictions?

I'm not sure I understood everything well... E.g., do You mean You're looking for music in one of: English, Spanish and Arabic or the opposite (music in other lang than English, Spanish and Arabic)?

Anyways, I have once come across some site with "libre" music. I'm not sure what that site was, but I'm pretty sure it was linked from defectivebydesign smile That list of DRM-free music plaforms was probably shorter back then... Well, we could treat this as a good sign

what wonderful person put a free culture subforum here?

well done!

https://jamendo.com has some music under various licenses, some of which should be libre (many arent.)

one of the reasons i started the free media alliance was to promote actual free works, no organisation seems to be doing that.

contact me or use this thread if you find free (as in freedom) music you like. i can add it to the library.

I've already tried it a couple years ago. but sadly, filtering against non-libre/free CC licenses don't work well in the results sometimes.

HarvettFox96, have You checked the defectivebydesign's list of DRM-free music sites I linked to in my previous post? Some of the sites listed are like jamendo - they serve or sell both libre and nonfree music, while other ones (like libre.fm - this seems to be the one I once tried a long time ago) seem to be more like what You are looking for (although idk if, for example, CC-BY-NC is "libre" enough for You or not)

Freemusicarchive.org used to be one of them. Dunno what happened to them.
