HyperForum → Packages → Should keybase be removed (it's in the community repo)?
Zoom bought it and the server code is not libre.

Agreed...
Absolutely and faster the better.
Nothing to "trust" into!
I think we should suggest replacements so that users can still get some of the functionality provided by Keybase in Hyperbola.
I never used Keybase and if I understand correctly it provides many different functionalities. I do use a freely licensed software package which is available in the AUR called magic-wormhole (I installed an older version and had to upgrade some libraries in order to get it to work) which enables directly sending files from one user to another. It relies on a rendezvous server to connect the users at first which is also freely licensed so there is no lock-in and if the developer or company behind that package sells out Hyperbola can fork the last libre version.

Okay, that's a good point. But keybase seems to be implemented into more projects as even Mastodon got some interface implented and released on June 2019. From my current understanding - maybe wrong - there is no complete alternative. But without having the server-side released for such a long period of time this software is mainly more proprietary with excetions on the client-side!
The removal should be done immediately and afterwards there can be some researches done for alternatives.

Indeed, and it has been removed,
which reminds me, here is an alternative some mentioned:
You can find the link within one of the keybase issues on github.
Although sadly its in development still.
Edit:
Actually, it hasn't been removed but it has been added to the blacklist on Hyperbola's git page. So probably it will be blocked soon.
Very cool, thanks for the insights.
And that would be great having a completely independent package based on a free, libre alternative.
