Topic: Can I boot from an mPCIe to USB adapter?

After coming across the Security mods offered by RetroFreedom,
https://retrofreedom.com/product/security-mods/
I'm weighing my options here.

One of the mods is a USB to SATA Adapter which, unfortunately, means you have to carry the hard drive separately from your computer and plug it in every time you boot it up.

Technoethical offers an mPCIe to USB adapter which replaces the mPCIe wi-fi card so I wondered that maybe I can plug an NVMe drive to it and boot from that.

I just want to know if anybody knows its possible.
Thanks.

I think Hyperbola can also boot from an usb SD card reader, as well as a usb flash drive, so maybe it can also boot from a NVMe drive using a usb port.

I installed Hyperbola using an usb SD card reader like I used an usb flash drive.
