Topic: How big should my root partition be?

I have a 1TB SSD and I want to overprovision about half of its capacity
to make sure it lasts a long, long time.

In my experience, I never needed more than 32GB of root storage in all my Linux distros
(at least when running them in virtual machines) but for having HyperbolaBSD in my
main computer, I'd like to have a larger root size just in case.

I do plan to place my home directory in a separate drive so
how much space will I need for HyperbolaBSD beyond the initial installation?

Thanks.

Re: How big should my root partition be?

As HyperbolaBSD is not even there as Alpha there is no information at that point to be said.

It isn't out yet, but I suspect, you might only need 25GB,

HyperbolaBSD will probably be wayyy less bloated then the curent one...

wink

Btw, that isn't Hyperbola's fault, its the fault of those who keep bloating the userspace and kernel...

just as a heads up...
