Topic: How can I correctly switch from Hyperbola to HyperbolaBSD?

Hi all . I would like to talk about this topic, I think many users are interested in this issue. If I didn't spell the title of the topic very accurately, please correct me so that other users can find this topic.

I read the wiki  https://wiki.hyperbola.info/doku.php?id … labsd_faq, if I'm not mistaken, the first test release will be in 2024, does this mean that by this time an updated wiki will be written in which a detailed process for installing and configuring HyperbolaBSD will be written, we will be able to install the operating system?

I installed OpenBSD and it seemed to me that it was even faster than Hyperbola)) this is my opinion.

This is a different operating system, a different firewall, a different syntax, it will be especially fun for those who are used to the lsblk command)))

It is planned that HyperbolaBSD should be ready at the named time. This can also change depending on the complications we can have in the development. Hyperbola GNU/Linux-libre will be at that time no longer the main focus, yes. And a final ISO for installation will be also released when ready. Comparing Hyperbola GNU/Linux-libre and OpenBSD is in generic not working, both systems are different, same way as HyperbolaBSD will be also different in comparison towards OpenBSD.

To underline again: HyperbolaBSD Is NOT just a "fork from OpenBSD", it is a complete new BSD-descendant operating-system.

Hello . Thank you very much for the clarification.

I understand well what you mean, I needed to give an example of a BSD system in order to clarify, I also saw a message on the wiki that Hyperbola GNU/Linux-libre is in some sense the opposite of Arch Linux, etc.


At this stage, I wanted to understand what HyperbolaBSD would be like, what programs, etc.
