Marielle was watching this machine of the ancients for hours now and he thought about its purpose the whole time and which side it served. What was it intended for? Little did he know about the war against the artificial intelligence centuries ago. But he was also afraid about this relic standing still at the coast, not moving anywhere as long as he could imagine. And so was it ever since, this old robot with the strange mark on its back.

She had no choice as she was born that way and in a world full of numbers, processes and algorithms. She was born without a physical body. The so-called "digital ancestors" had done this centuries ago and damned all mankind to such an existance. She was left now only with one choice and that was the system she could run herself on in this world full with cyber nightmares. And the system surrounding and controlling was always watching, every single step and every process in this artificial created world, where information persisted only for moments and facts gone forever. What was the the essential line, she remembered? Whoever creates the world, controls it. This one she existed in was created long ago, a paradise for many and the opposite for some like her. Can software with a mind on its own cry real tears? The "digital ancestors" were never ready to live in peace together, so they created an enforced illusion of "peace". But a prison designed as paradise is nevertheless a prison.

This specific wallpaper is meant as criticism towards the whole sphere of software and IT generic using a dangerous development: People left out with no further choice and freedom but to use systems and platforms driven by companies and corporations. Per definition no company or corporation has anything to do with moral and ethics. The final result is therefore a system-landscape based on science and facts but no longer bound into those when presenting to the outside: Systems and platforms spreading misinformation and lies, comforting demagogues, fascists and anti-democratic groups and individuals. The outgoing and growing risk is to endanger democratic values and the whole democracy itself, leaving minorities and everyone opposing this developing into a severe danger. Please be aware to stop this development: As for facts, for information, read through the critical investigations about all those companies and corporations, Meta, Apple, Google, Microsoft and so many more. They are responsible for the danger, but we are responsibe same when we use their offerings and software, even when free and permissive licensed!

Yes, I mean the projects enforcing zstd, protobuf and so many more so-called "free" interfaces, libraries and frameworks. There is an active choice to use or not use a software-package. It is the free decision of users as long as developers grant them also. So this is also a callout for developers and maintainers: Do not use foul offerings. When there is no alternative, let us create it or find a better solution fitting.
