Hello! How easy way to make email box with postfix or other utility? And how send and receive messages with this email (in terminal)?
Hello and welcome to the forums, personal I would not recommend postfix for smaller setups, depending on the amount you prefer. First and foremost you can use opensmtpd. As for receiving messages itself you can use mutt as terminal-based mail-client.
To recommend also: Please always approve to use a static and formal reachable server as otherwise communication local throughout for example dynamic ip-addresses will not work. Reasoning: Most mail-server hosting disapprove that and decline communication immediately as otherwise spam and other harmful messaging would be possible in a tremendous number.
Thank you! (sorry for my english)
You're right about clear principles and freedom in software. I thought postfix adhered to these principles. Why don't the hyperbola creators therefore remove postfix from the repositories?
Could you write in detail how to create an email server using opensmtpd (and add this email to mutt)? When I said I was stupid, I meant it...
And... if such a thing exists, can you recommend me a free and libre translator?
First and foremost: postfix is surely also free and libre software. But you need to look on the sizing of your installed serersystem and what you want to reach. It will become very important that smaller installations with minimalistic approaches are quite more helpful than oversized ones. Using postfix is not bad, but depends on your approach.
Besides you will need also dovecot as a mail-server consists out of an "inbox" (dovecot) and an "outbox" (opensmtpf).
A good guide is more or less quick to find, a possible example: https://poolp.org/posts/2019-09-14/sett … nd-rspamd/
About translation: That is complicated as this relates to a quite more complex topic and within capitalism foremost many things are more or less a business-model. So also online-translation sites and tools. Therefore I can't recommend one for the moment.
Oh, sorry, I use links as a browser and I thought that "Human being in favor with clear principles and so also for freedom in soft- and hardware" applies to my post...
What you said about capitalism is, of course, the undeniable truth. Thanks for your answer!
