Topic: Why was my account deleted?

Hello!
Why was my account (stuu) removed from this forum? Is it really because of my post?
That insult towards Hyperbola was not written by me and I do not agree with this insult. I brought him just to start a conversation; to ask about such "pure principles" of the Hyperbola project in comparison with other GNU distributions and previous versions of Hyperbola GNU/Linux-libre.
It's probably because of my English. If so, then, again, what I meant was not what you thought.

Re: Why was my account deleted?

Please understand that the insult was quite more than just a simple one. It is a clear sign of something rising: The marking of the wording "fascism" in the clear wrong direction. There is no such thing as the quote and the reaction of deletion was clearly out of that reasoning and not meant to harm you personal. In fact it is meant more out of a protection. The mentioning of these wordings tend to heat up any debate within even seconds in every imaginable direction.

As we have seen such in the younger past and before, we clearly react and protect all sides possibles. Therefore also the removal of that debate as does not lead anywhere. You can surely ask about why the system has taken a roadmap and I'm always ready to tell the stories behind the development. But as Hyperbola is a clear grassroots-meant project, the direction is always democratic meant. A removal of the account is not the exclusion: You can therefore see that you can always create another account and return. It is just a situation already there in the past with not any good ending. So before it could repeat, the reaction is first quite strict.

So I restart this one with two links. The first a long article from our wiki:
https://wiki.hyperbola.info/doku.php?id … _feudalism

And the seond one:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ur-Fascism

That second one is a helper meant to see, why that insult is more than original "only an insult". Hope it helps!

Re: Why was my account deleted?

I didn't understand you. Do you think that I called the Hyperbola project fascist? I found this comment on one of the forums and I have nothing to do with it. I just wanted to emphasize how people who say this don't care about their freedom at all...

Re: Why was my account deleted?

Specifically in this case, it turned out to be more of a repression against me and my poor command of the English language.

Re: Why was my account deleted?

No I do not think that, but the commentary from a forum quoting does not bring anything forward here. But you should really either then use the source linking (please let us do this not at that point here then now). Or generalize more: You are surely right about false associations. But as said: The quote with a non-quote does not bring anything as people on the global network claim many things and the more they can do nonsense, the more many like just to see the world burning out of their own nihilistic perspective. That is a dark pattern, we surely do not use as to recall Nietzsche for this:

Beware that, when fighting monsters, you yourself do not become a monster... for when you gaze long into the abyss. The abyss gazes also into you.

And as said: That is not meant as repression - otherwise you would not have been able to register again. But to debate open about a clear historical defined wording and question it indirect with a false association does not bring anyone forward. In fact it brings both participating sides into problems: You first as it seems like you quote something on your own - which was known false. Nevertheless you deserved an answer and wanted one. Which then leads to me then bringing the project itself into a false light as it seems like we always need to explain things out of in need to explain to the whole network (internet) why we do what we do and how. Nobody wins here, and unknown people outside wins and laugh at us.

One last friendly meant point: If you want to debate this further, I invite you either in IRC doing this direct or via mail. Nobody here outside reading now understands what you and me refer. And I do not want to repeat that wrong wording and association as I neither want to make that to my own quote nor I want to quote such abomination of historical facts.

And perhaps I need to underline that again: Such false associations bring so much damage to democratic values, that even their artificial created existence quoting bring damage. It is not repression but clear meant drawing a line. We should not fall into that trap others bring out, otherwise we make ourselves very fast and much into danger.

Re: Why was my account deleted?

This, I think, is not based on anything. I must admit, I like your philosophical views, but I explicitly stated that I found this comment on one of the forums for users of non-libre distributions, and I was not writing on my own behalf.

As said, please let us use then different descriptions. I do that on-going when finding such and being confronted. Even with a bit different approach quoting it ends up making such people laughing. As I had written in the original posting: I hope and wish for them that they see the dark path and pattern they are on, but we cannot tolerate their on-going damage. We should never quote their creations as at some point we cement their creation into the minds of readers. Standing against fascism looks sometimes harsh, but ... there is only that: Do not be afraid. Which means in the end: You were never uninvited, only the postings removed to protect you in person. Nobody here wants you even slight associated with that. I recommend you reading the definitions above from Umberto Eco, they help very much to understand how toxic that creations of words can be and how much power is within framing and wording. smile

Re: Why was my account deleted?

I wouldn't be so sad if it was the post that was deleted and not my account sad
English, english, english - is my problem, and the fact that I don't use it as gracefully as my main language, it would probably be worth asking for a reformulation of the sentence that angered you so much, but not totreat me so harshly. First of all, it would be worth remembering how I agreed with you about capitalism and freedom.

Re: Why was my account deleted?

I can recreate your original profile-name as it is not hidden and therefore recreate also your approach. As there is really not much lost. But aside of that: The renaming of stuu2 to stuu is not much of work. Nevertheless: Everything we do leaves something in the network, now and then. So you should really use a different approach of quoting. When you have interests in the projects approach, you can simple ask for any detail.
